Cookie Notice
Last updated October 13, 2026
Shoal uses very few cookies. We only use what the site needs to work.
What we use
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage is a similar place for small settings. Shoal uses both, for strictly necessary and convenience purposes only.
Sign-in cookies
When an organizer or team member signs in, our sign-in provider (Supabase) sets session cookies. They keep you signed in as you move between pages and are removed when you sign out or they expire. Without them, the dashboard cannot work. Attendees do not need to sign in to use their ticket, but guests of Private events sign in with their invited email to see the event, which uses the same cookies.
Local storage
In the attendee app (the page opened from a ticket link), your browser may save small conveniences on your device, such as which updates you have already seen and whether you dismissed the hint about adding the app to your home screen. This stays on your device. We do not read it on our servers, and it holds no personal details.
What we do not use
- No analytics cookies.
- No advertising or tracking cookies.
- No social media trackers.
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies and local conveniences, the law does not require a consent banner, so you will not see one.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to sign in. You can clear local storage by clearing your site data.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics, advertising or any non-essential cookie, we will first update this notice and ask for your consent through a clear choice before they are set. Nothing optional will be switched on by default. See also our Privacy Policy. Questions? Email support@shoalevents.com.
